The library of the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology is a special library collecting publications on social anthropology with a close focus on the Institute's research on "Law & Anthropology", "Resilience and Transformation in Eurasia" and "Integration and Conflict".
Newly founded at the end of 1999 the library owns about 44,500 monographs, 670 videos, 4,700 journal volumes and about 193 currently subscribed journals. (December 2017)
Members of the institute's staff may borrow monographs. Periodicals are for in-library use only. Guests may use the library for reference purposes only. Visitors have the option of copying relevant material (0,15 € / copy).
